First of all: Hi (to whoever is reading this).
So (to whoever will follow this blog): Bienvenidos, fasten your seat belts and I hope you’ll enjoy reading about my “student life” and some other ‘things’ that might come up with the passing of time!
This part of the blog is intended to let “you” (the reader) know the
background of “me” (the one who will be writing this blog for the upcoming
months; or at least the one who you think
will be writing it.. just kidding!).
I will write this as if it was the first conversation with someone,
because I read somewhere that self-descriptions should be ‘creative’, so the
readers won’t just switch to using Facebook after reading the first two sentences
(I hope that didn’t just happen with mine...).
So, who am I?
My name is Maria André [in short: Maria] I live in Venlo, The
Netherlands, where I study International Marketing at Fontys University. I am
21 (..22 now) years old and come from a country located in Central America called
Guatemala.
How did I get here?
Four years ago, after graduating from school, I left home and went to
Barcelona, place where I lived for 2 years; one of which I studied Journalism
at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, the other year hmmm… (Better leave it
with the “hmmm…” description!). Unfortunately journalism was not my thing, so
by searching for other options I found Fontys, and that’s what brought me here.
What do I do (…Apart from ‘studying
very, very hard’)?
Whenever I’m free I do whatever comes up. Nothing fixed, just: Going
out with friends, reading, drawing, traveling… Then, what really takes most of
my time whenever I’m not in school is that I ride sport horses for stables here
in The Netherlands.
What’s coming up soon?
Well, the third year of my Marketing studies is coming up. I’m looking
forward to doing an internship abroad, then a minor abroad and of course,
visiting home. So, a lot of “moving” is coming up; just like a NOMAD! And if
everything goes as expected this next year we’ll be in 3 different
countries, located in 3 different continents.
So (to whoever will follow this blog): Bienvenidos, fasten your seat belts and I hope you’ll enjoy reading about my “student life” and some other ‘things’ that might come up with the passing of time!
Go at it! Sure you'll be having interesting experiences.
