LOCA people?

Happy new year dear readers! A bit late, I know.. OR  a bit early if you look at it in a different, positive, Chinese perspective. Hopefully everything is going good for all of you; if that is not the case then just wait for the different, positive, Chinese new year. Maybe the snake brings good luck, you never know.

OK. After taking a look at the last post written in this blog I can see  that I left you very behind; as it has been nearly two months ago since I last wrote. Now the ‘hibernation period’ is over and it is time to grab the pen and paper again, or more like the keyboard and screen in this case (..as well as to switch ON the brain, because it seems to be kind of shut down at the moment!).

So, we are officially over with the internship semester – walking the Indian jungle, sharing roads with elephants, avoiding snakes on the sidewalks, eating vegetarian/spicy food, surviving Indian hospitals.. and even having to take multiple tetanus/rabies vaccines by the end of the adventure (…a long story); AND of course how to forget, ‘expanding the International Marketing knowledge’, believe it or not, within what for some might appear to be a somehow chaotic context (!).

Loca people (1)

A couple of months ago we said “goodbye” to the place where cows are considered gods and goddesses, just to say in a matter of few a weeks “hello” to that one where they actually enjoy eating (..and well: killing) them very much.

[As some might say: “each to his own”/ “cada loco con su tema”]. Loca people (2)

Ladies and gentleman, just like the initial blog’s plan stated (“On your marks, get set, g… BLOG!”): We now go to Sevilla, Spain for the minor abroad!

Spain, Spain, Spain… Hmm. What can you say about Spain? The perfect place for getting a -

  • Bachelor degree in bars and ‘botellones’.
  • Master degree in discos and clubs.
  • Ph.D in after parties.

To then become a ‘Guru’ in knowing how to survive all of it!

Barcelona was home to me for 2 years; and (at least as far as my experience goes) it is the only place in this world where you can run into someone chasing imaginary butterflies at the beach, a naked (and when I say ‘naked’, I mean completely 100% naked) person walking in the city (and when I say ‘in the city’, I mean walking in the streets surrounded with 100% of other people with clothes on); a person running around screaming because an imaginary ghost or beast (or something) is chasing her… and many other ‘uncommon activities’!

But despite the ‘uncommon activities’ you might encounter, in general, Spain promises one thing to those who visit or live there: Having too much of a good (party) time. “Too much fun”. From Barcelona and Madrid, to a small town near Toledo; from País Vasco in the north to Pamplona when the San Fermín festival is going on… it is simply too much party. You´re almost feeling tired by the end of it!

You can describe it, draw it, explain it; but in reality there is no such person that can express it better than the ‘modern Spanish poet’: Sak Noel [I say ‘poet’ because if you have ever heard any of his songs (Loca People, Paso, Wherevideos not too appropriate though) you can hear how ‘profound’, ‘thoughtful’ and very ‘carefully composed’ his lyrics are.. they simply ‘touch your heart’!]-

Please do not get the wrong idea, of course we are going to study over there, and avoid having too much fun! ;) Because of course your writer behaves very well!

So dear readers, I leave you for today.. Meanwhile, IF BY ANY CHANCE you are planning to soon set foot in Spain please try not to “lose your underwear”! :D

…yes, the ‘modern poets of our society’; of course it is definitely inevitable not to feel ‘proud’ of them!

PEACE (+PARTY)
Your writer,
Maria
