THE LAST.ing POST

Dear readers,

I have this idea that out of all the people I meet in my life, a 95% I will never see again. It does not matter how important some people were at a certain moment in my life; how much influence they had on who I’ve become, or how much they have meant for me and how much they will always mean for me. I will simply never ever have the chance to see the majority of them again.
You never know when you might be gone for good, and this is something that has lead me to take goodbyes very ‘at heart’.

I know that most of us never met in person, but a goodbye is still a goodbye – and, as you may know, my task as your writer has already come to an end! Consequently, the exclusive, the one and only and particular reason for this post’s existence, is for saying our farewells. And so:

Two years… Gone like the wind! Haven’t they?

We have been together through The Netherlands

…to then head back to The Netherlands (AKA ‘The Legolands’), the very place where the whole adventure started.

You have been my ‘long-distance companions’, and together we have written stories worth telling. I say “we”, because if it was not for you, my dear readers, very possibly none of the posts that are now held in this blog would have ever left my brain. They would probably still be there, and most of them long gone forgotten:

Some of them were sad goodbyes ("Expiration Date 'The Legolands'"), while others were happy triumphs ("Concentration Cancelation: WUEC 2012"). There were the random ones ("Haphazardness"), the ones worth writing about ("Cell"), the rebel ones ("Brains vs. Cows")… the ones that were full of life ("Rules & Tools for Becoming a 'Marketist'"), and those other ones that will mark us for the rest of our existence ("Return to Civilization").

If you read one of them, half of one of them, the title of just one of them, or perhaps the entire “collection” of Follow mE’s experiences: All I have to say is thank you. Thanks for reading, for visiting. Thank you for your time and energy and patience! I hope it all went alright. And, of course… it was my pleasure writing for you all this time.

What else? Well, I think that during one of my ‘inspirational and romantic moments’ when writing a past post, I said something like: “Life is the moments in between the blink of an eye” ("Rules & Tools for Becoming a 'Marketist'").

I hope that all of you enjoy your “moments in between the blink of an eye” and that you are able to make the most out of them; in whatever way that feels right for you, in whatever way that will ‘color’ your surroundings.. in a way that will make them a bit more brighter.

Life is magic: We are beings made out of atoms, beings made out of energy and information. There is not much difference in between a tree and us, and there is not that much distance in whatever we dream of and the turning of those dreams into a reality.

I hope that you love what you do, and that you do what you love; and that you wear wings while doing so.

As for me, I have no idea. Lets see what comes next!

I end this blog journey, just as it started... we've reached this finish line ("On your marks, get set g..BLOG!" –'Oh, The Places We’ll Go!'– Now lets just see where the next one takes us:

Take care and PEACE OUT
Your writer,
Maria
:')

P.S: I left you the updated 'Top 10 Posts' (in case you feel like criticizing them!).. "Au revoir!"

(HAPPY) Antigua

“I am guessing that when you were a kid, dear reader, you had to answer the question “what do you want to be when you grow up?” more than once…”

An old post started like this (“Don’t Burn it Down!!”); though I reckon you probably cannot remember (…that is, if you ever read it at all).

I did happen to remember it, because I ran into something quite funny a few days ago:

It seems that theDon’t Burn it Down!!” childhood-Orca-drawing-attempt was not that far from matching the original ones!

So, my dear readers, as I have been saying for the past couple of posts: This is one of the last times I will be writing this Follow mE blog (it is the second to last post I will write to be more concrete!).

But before saying our farewells, I thought of giving you a long-distance visit to a nice and beautiful place here in Guatemala. If I would ever live in this country for good, I would definitely chose this location as a place ‘to call home’, at least for a few years.

Due to the fact that I am out of brain cells for writing today… and due to the fact that tourists seem to almost always give positive comments, and fresh views, on the sites that they visit…

-Open parenthesis-
(the following comment makes out a perfect example:

Lucky her for being able to write the first two sentences)
-Close parenthesis-

I decided that this post would be written by outsiders! By those one who have visited the place and that have left some written comments along the way.

Ladies and Gentleman: Many bloggers are about to present you the city that, instead of succumbing or kneeling before a series of harsh earthquakes that shaked it throughout its extended existance, chose to explode with colors, life and uniqueness: Antigua Guatemala Antigua (Happy? Happy!)

I took (I "tried" taking) some pictures from Antigua this weekend, but apparently this Blogger thing does not allow me to add a web album over here for some reason. I've been trying for enough time to annoy someone at a 1,000% level, but it still does not work! SO. I placed them in a video, which makes them look shitty (or I reckon that "more shitty" for those that like photography; as I am 'training' myself with using the manual camera mode), but whatever... it is something!

I hope you liked the post my dear readers, and that hopefully you can come and visit Antigua one of these days (if you so desire, of course). It looks and feels much better in person!

Thanks for visiting the blog (thanks for those who wrote the nice comments I used for this 'article') and,
'till the next (and last) post!

PEACE OUT
Your writer,

Maria
